Liz (Elizabeth) Bell-Thorpe

Liz (Elizabeth) Bell-Thorpe, daughter of Aubrey and Ruby Schmidt Bell, was born, December 1, 1955 in Camdenton, Missouri. She departed this life, December 14, 2024, in her home in Edgar Springs, Missouri at the age of sixty-nine years.

On New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2001, in Camdenton, Missouri, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Max Thorpe and together they shared right at twenty-three years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rick (JJ) Bell.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Wiese and husband Jeremy of Doolittle, Missouri; her son, Travis Thorpe and wife Karlee of Doolittle, Missouri; her brother, Carl Bell and wife Shelley of Camdenton, Missouri, her sister, Doris Bell of Camdenton, Missouri; her grandchildren, Cooper Wiese, Shelby Wiese, Kennedee Thorpe and Rylee Thorpe and a host of aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Liz was raised in Camdenton, Missouri and graduated from Camdenton High School. After graduation, she worked at Tan-Tar-A in reservations before moving to Kansas City to work at the Phillips House Hotel. She eventually moved to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands at the largest resort for over a decade as their banquets manager. She then moved back home and switched careers and started cleaning houses and making many new friends along the way until she retired.

Liz was saved and was a member of Potters House Church in Camdenton, Missouri.

Growing up, she would be found yelling at the tv with her siblings for the Kansas City Chiefs. She continued to cheer them on all thru her life. Just like her mom, she never missed an episode of Perry Mason. After retiring, she loved sitting on the porch with her best bud, Dingo, her red heeler.

Liz was a loving wife, mom, sister, grandma and a caring neighbor and friend. She will be truly missed by everyone that knew her. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
