Lois Keller

Lois Arlene Keller, daughter of the late Merrill & Evelyn (Benda) Ingold, was born on February 12, 1935 and departed this life on August 4, 2022. At the time of her passing, she was eighty-seven years, five months and twenty-three days of age. Lois was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband, Jennings Bryan (JB) Bevans, Jr.; four sisters; one brother; and two daughters, Dr. Brenda Hettinger and Jenni Beth Denny. Lois is survived by her two sons, Virgil & wife Rhonda Bevans of Camdenton, Missouri and Basil and wife Glenda Bevans of Quincy, Illinois; one sister, Anita Milz of Independence, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Lois was born in Luray, Missouri and attended school in Wyaconda, Missouri, graduating as the Valedictorian of the class of 1953. While still in high school, she met JB Bevans, and on March 29, 1950 they were united in marriage. Following her high school graduation, she would become a homemaker, raising her family after JB returned home from his time of service in the Korean Conflict. After her children had started school, she attended Culver-Stockton College, where she would graduate with her Bachelor of Science Degree, Suma Cum Laude. Eight years later, she would receive her Master of Arts degree from Northeast Missouri State University. Lois taught school for 25 years, retiring from Blackhawk Elementary in Kahoka, Missouri, in 1996. In her spare time, she truly enjoyed quilting, making quilts for her family and each grandchild when they were born. Lois made her profession of faith and was later baptized in the Kahoka Baptist Church on June 19, 1955. Over the years she served the Lord as a church pianist and a Sunday school teacher. At the time of her passing, Lois was a faithful member of Montgomery Baptist Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
