Lola Saari

Lola Saari Lola May Saari, daughter of Oliver and Martha Ann Belt Key, was born, April 3, 1924 in Waverly, Missouri. She departed this life, Tuesday, March 23, 2010, in Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri at the age of eighty-five years, eleven months and twenty days. She was united in marriage to Robert Joseph Saari. Together they shared many happy years until his passing on May 18, 1997. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carolyn E. Schindler; three brothers, Edmond Key, Charles Key and Leroy Key and a sister, Margaret Carter. Survivors include a son, Gary Holmes and wife Debby of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; a son-in-law, Dennis Schindler of Camdenton, Missouri; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lola was raised in Waverly, Missouri and spent the majority of her adult life in the Kansas City area. She worked at Parmalee Plastics and later as a waitress. She enjoyed time spent as a homemaker. She moved to the Lake of the Ozarks twenty years ago and considered the lake area home. Lola made a profession of faith and was a member of the Potter's House in Camdenton. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and making trips to the casino boats. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed cheering for the Missouri teams. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m., Saturday in the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
