Lucille Erma “Lucy” Arnold, daughter of Virgil Ray and Alma Lorraine Baker, was born, August 19, 1937 in Columbia, Missouri. She departed this life, March 29, 2024, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, seven months and ten days.
On July 13, 1954 in Ferguson, Missouri, she was united in marriage to William Harold “Bill” Arnold and together they shared fifty-one years of marriage prior to his passing on April 1, 2006. To this union, two children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arnold; her parents; seven brothers and four sisters.
Lucy is survived by her two sons, William H. Arnold, Jr. of Camdenton, Missouri and Steve R. Arnold of Roach, Missouri; her sister, Linda Bradley and husband Gary and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was raised in Columbia, Missouri and attended Columbia Hickman School. After her marriage in 1954, she and Bill made their home in Florissant, Missouri, where they lovingly raised their sons. Together they retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1988. She helped set-up Colonal Day Stores and worked at Venture Stores in O’Fallon, Missouri till she retired in 1988.
Lucy had lots of stories to tell. She shared many tales about her childhood, living in an army tent, teaching neighbor children to fish and of the Angels that surrounded her husband Bill before he passed. We know those same Angels have escorted Lucy to her final resting place.
She was an avid, diehard St. Louis Cardinal Fan. Hobbies included painting, crocheting, fishing for crappie and big catfish. She also collected Angels and precious moments figurines. She loved listening to country music and soft rock and watching western movies with her family.
Lucy was of the Baptist faith and had attended Carsonville Baptist Church.
Lucy was a loving wife, mother and sister and was a caring neighbor and friend. Above all, Lucy loved her family most of all. We will cherish her memory in our hearts and will miss her greatly.
