LUCILLE McGURIE Pearl Lucille McGuire, daughter of George and Alice Walters Shaw, was born, September 18, 1921 in Old Linn Creek, Missouri. She departed this life, Saturday, May 7, 2011, in Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years, seven months and nineteen days. On April 26, 1939 in Camden County, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Earnest McGuire and to this union three children were born. Together they shared fifty-three years of marriage until his passing on July 22, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Gregory. She is survived by children, Frank McGuire and wife Mary of Camdenton, Missouri, Mary Elliott and husband John of Kansas City, Missouri and Jerry McGuire and wife Tacey of Sedalia, Missouri; a sister, Wilma McGuire of Camdenton, Missouri; five grandchildren, Erica McGuire of Camdenton, Missouri, Rachel McDowell and husband Tony of Ulman, Missouri; Brittany and Tiffany McGuire of Belgium, Wisconsin and Lisha Landsberry and husband Ian of Maine; eight great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lucille was a life-long resident of Camden County. She retired as a waitress, having worked for The Night Hawk and Star Restaurant. Lucille was saved as a young girl and was a Charter Member of Myetta Missionary Baptist Church. She devoted her life to God and her family. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, collecting and fish aquariums. She loved the holidays and always made sure her home was decorated for them, especially Christmas. Family was most important to her and spending time with them always brought her joy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. Her door was always opened to friends and loved ones, and she will be greatly missed by all those that loved her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in Myetta Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis North and Rev. Danny Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Decaturville Cemetery, Decaturville. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to a fund established to assist the family and left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
