M. Chris Hershfelt

M. Christine Hershfelt (Rippeto) passed away Tuesday, October 13,2020 at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. Chris was born December 25, 1945 to Ralph and Joan Hershfelt in central Illinois. She graduated Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi with a Bachelor’s of Science and went on to get her Masters of Arts Degree. She taught mathematics in high school and later became a Clinical Laboratory Technologist working in hospitals. She worked for several Medical Healthcare Companies in the technical and sales areas. She is the beloved wife of Dan Rippeto. She was an avid tennis player, loved golf, snow skiing, biking, hiking and gardening. At Lake of the Ozarks they enjoyed boating. They own an RV and travelled around the United States visiting National Parks, family and friends. She was a Chicago Bears Fan. They hosted many Firepit Get Togethers at their home. Chris was always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear. She was active in the community and volunteered for many organizations including Meals on Wheels and Animal Shelters. Chris is survived by her husband, Dan Rippeto; her two brothers Don (Judy) Hershfelt of Tupelo, Mississippi and Ralph (Augusta) Hershfelt of Fernandina Beach, Florida. She was a kind and caring aunt, niece, sister, sister in law, cousin and friend loved by her family and many, many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Society, Dogwood Animal Shelter in Osage Beach, Missouri or the ASPCA.
