Margaret Katherine Pierce Margaret Katherine Pierce, daughter of Lorenza Edward and Flossie Lovonia Gibson Cyrus, was born, February 10, 1937 in Roach, Missouri. She departed this life, Wednesday morning, May 23, 2018, in Strafford Care Center, Strafford, Missouri at the age of eighty-one years, three months and thirteen days. On July 17, 1954 in Camdenton, Missouri, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Joseph M. Pierce and to this union two children were born. Together they shared forty-nine years of marriage until his passing November 20, 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her two children, Anita Pierce and Michael Joseph Pierce and a sister, Theo Rogers. Survivors include her grandchildren, Jennifer Franklin and husband Steven of Fair Grove, Missouri, Melissa Bowles of Camdenton, Missouri, Jeff Bowles of Eldon, Missouri and Ashley Deshotel of Linn Creek, Missouri; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; her siblings, Dora Mae Knox of Kansas City, Missouri, Ann Bonacker of Lebanon, Missouri and Loren T. Cyrus of Lebanon, Missouri; a nephew, Jerry Rogers and wife Bertha of Camdenton, Missouri; her nieces, Linda Evans of Kansas City, Missouri, Wanda MisCavish and husband Paul of South Carolina, Debbie Nelson and husband Chad of Lebanon, Missouri and Donna Cook and husband Terry of Lebanon, Missouri and a host of other relatives and many friends. Margaret grew up in the Camdenton area until moving to Kansas City in 1951 and that is where she graduated from Manuel High School and Vocational School in 1954. This is where she met her husband Joe and they were married. They moved back to Camdenton in 1961 and bought a farm. In 1971 they sold the farm and kept two acres where they lived in their forever home. Margaret went to work at Farmer-Foster Insurance in 1963 as what she called her job the “general flunky”. She worked hard and earned her insurance license. Margaret was manager over the personal department. You always knew that when you went into the office she would greet you with that beautiful smile and kind words. She always went above and beyond to help you figure out what was the best for you. Margaret made a profession of faith and was a member of First Baptist Church, Camdenton, Missouri where she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School. In her spare time, she loved to write poetry and read. As Jennifer had said, “she was an awesome Grandma.” Margaret will be deeply missed by everyone that loved and knew her. She has blessed her family and friends with many beautiful memories. We celebrate her life and know that she is rejoicing in heaven being with her husband, children and all of her family and free of any pain. Funeral services will be held at, 12 noon, Friday, May 25, 2018 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home in care of Jennifer Franklin and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
