Marion Burl Carnahan

Marion Burl Carnahan, son of Carl Raymond and Rosemary Louise Brock Carnahan, was born November 2, 1960 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, September 16, 2017 in his home, Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of fifty-six years, ten months, and fourteen days. Marion was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Golden, of the home; his children, Joey Carnahan, of Raytown, Missouri, Nicholas Carnahan, of Linn Creek, Missouri, Rita Riley, of North Carolina, and Vance Wilt and wife Morgan, of Latham, Missouri; his grandchildren, Noah Carnahan, Erica Rogers, Charles Riley, Natalie Wilt, Vanessa Jones, Cora Wilt, Tyler Carnahan, as well as a greatly anticipated grandchild on the way; his siblings, Carl Carnahan, of Camdenton, Missouri, Charles Carnahan and wife Teresa, of Macks Creek, Missouri, David Carnahan, of Camdenton, Missouri, Danny Carnahan and wife Lori, of Camdenton, Missouri, Tanya Carnahan, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Anthony Carnahan, of Richland, Missouri; his brother-at-heart, Larry Phillips, of Raytown, Missouri; the mother of his sons, Tina Martin, of Rich Hill, Missouri; as well as a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Marion was born in Lee’s Summit, and spent his younger years living in Stockton, Missouri. At the age of fourteen, Marion and his family moved to Macks Creek where they made their home. He was an iron worker for over twenty-eight years, and traveled the state building numerous custom metal buildings during his career. Marion was an avid and experienced outdoorsman. He was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed building bikes and custom stroker racing engines. He was riding his Harley every chance he had. Marion and Glenda were members of the Freedom of the Road Riders. Marion was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
