Mark Alden Zickefoose, son of Orval Eugene and Gayle Alene Stull Zickefoose, was born, October 1, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He departed this life, Tuesday, March 06, 2018, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy years, five months and five days. On June 7, 1969 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Judy Ann Foss and to this union they were blessed with two beautiful children. Together they shared forty-eight years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lynn Messer. Mark is survived by his wife, Judy Zickefoose of the home; his son, Chad Zickefoose and wife Lori and their children, Elissa, Jeremy, Justin, Nikolas and Jordan of Ozark, Missouri; his daughter, Marci Jo Carter and her husband, Jason and their children, Kelsie, Brett, Brock and Kyle of Ozark, Missouri; his siblings, Loren Zickefoose and his wife Nan, Nancy Sasseen, Phil Zickefoose, Keith Zickefoose and wife Tammy; his brother-in-law, Romaine Messer as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mark was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in the class of 1967. He served our country from 1968-1970 in the United States Navy. Once he returned home, he attended Palmer Chiropractic College where he graduated with his degree. In February of 1977, Mark and Judy moved to the Lake of the Ozarks to take care of his parents. He taught at Lake Area Technical School for fifteen plus years as the building trade teacher. Mark was a man that could accomplish whatever he set his head to do. He started his dream hobby farm, which was all organic and very successful. He even raised bees and sold his honey. Mark had made a profession of faith. When they moved to the area, they attended First Baptist Church of Camdenton where they were members and he had taught Sunday School. Later they became members of New Life Church of the Nazarene. In his spare time, he had a passion for taking his grandchildren on adventures and teaching them about things that were important in life. Every day, he would text 555 to his girls and granddaughters, because it was the last triple digits of the day. Mark loved his wife, his four adult children and grandchildren with all his heart and has blessed them with many memories that they will forever treasure. Memorial services with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
