Marvin Earl Herron

Marvin Earl Herron, son of James Frederick and Jewell Pearl Phillips Herron, was born January 20, 1938 in Belle, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, August 18, 2016 in his home, at the age of seventy-eight years, six months, and twenty-nine days. On October 3, 1976, Marvin was united in marriage to Anita Louise Oliver, and together they have shared nearly forty years. His parents, and a sister, Carol Gorrino, preceded Marvin in death. Marvin is survived by his wife, Anita, of the home; his children, Mark Herron and wife Cristina, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Connie Herron and fiancée Brian Derrington, of St. Peters, Missouri, Bruce Herron and fiancée Sonya Goffney, of Dallas, Texas, and Katherine Trinity and husband Thomas, of Kirkwood, Missouri; his grandchildren, Ann Duke and husband Adam, Jenna Herron, Matthew Herron and wife Janel, Kayla Herron, Breanna Herron, Colleen Trinity, Jackie Johnson and husband Ammon, Melissa Dominguez and husband Zack, and Michelle Backes and husband Cory; great-grandchildren, Mara Dominguez, Maddox Dominguez, Tommy Johnson, Eveli Johnson, and he was greatly anticipating the birth of his fifth great-grandchild; his siblings, Bob Herron and wife Karen, of Chicago, Illinois, Charles Herron and wife Helen, of Florida, and Steve Herron of Belle, Missouri; his sister-in-law, Pat Gill and husband Lonny, of O’Fallon, Missouri; a number of nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Marvin was born in Belle, Missouri, and spent his younger years working with his dad on the family farm. He later spent time working in various jobs throughout the area until he enrolled at Linn State Technical College, where he would graduate with a degree as a Journeyman Machinist. Marvin went to work at the General Motors LaGrange Train Plant, and later transferred to the automotive assembly plant in Wentzville, where he held various positions until his retirement in 2004. Following his retirement, Marvin and Anita moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2005 at which time he promptly purchased a boat and spent his time enjoying all that the lake had to offer. He often joked with family and friends that his new job was working the “Shark Patrol” on the lake. Marvin had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of Grace Church in St. Charles, Missouri for many years. Marvin was an avid sports fan, and could tell you every mascot, statistic, and player for nearly every college sports team. He loved spending time on the water, but time spent with his family and friends was something that he truly cherished. He was very particular about his flower garden and always made sure that it was in pristine condition. Marvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
