Mary Jo Bellmer, daughter of Charles Bernard and Kathryn Purdencia O’Brien Weller, was born February 22, 1932 in Sedalia, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, February 17, 2017 at E.W. Thompson’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sedalia, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, eleven months, and twenty-six days. On September 25, 1954, Mary Jo was united in marriage to Donald Ray Bellmer, and to this union three daughters and one son were born. Her parents; her husband, Don, on July 9, 2015; and two brothers, Charles and Donald Weller, preceded Mary Jo in death. Mary Jo is survived by her children, Joe Bellmer and wife Debbie, of Columbia, Missouri, Mary K. Williams and husband Bret, of Sedalia, Missouri, Ellen Bellmer, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Diane Brennaman and husband Steve, of Camdenton, Missouri; her grandchildren, Quinn Bellmer, of Columbia, Missouri, Elizabeth Kettle and husband Jacob, of Columbia, Missouri, and Kyle Brennaman, of Oxford, Alabama; her great-grandchildren, Lillian and Parker Kettle, and Nash Bellmer; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Walters, of Sedalia, Missouri; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends. Mary Jo grew up in Sedalia and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She received her degree in Nursing from St. Teresa’s School of Nursing (Avila University) in Kansas City and began her career in nursing at the practice of Proctor, Lowe, and Hopkins. She also served as the Pettis County Public Health Nurse for a number of years until moving to Chillicothe where she worked as a Registered Nurse at Headrick Medical Center. Following her move to the Lake of the Ozarks, Mary Jo worked at Lake Ozark General Hospital. She also spent many years working as the Public Health Nurse for the Camden County Health Department, and later for Dr. Carter. Mary Jo retired from Nursing after serving her communities for over forty years combined. Mary Jo was baptized into the Catholic Church and was a faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sedalia. Mary Jo was a loving wife and mother to her family and cherished the time spent with them. In her earlier years she enjoyed golfing and hit a hole-in-one at Walnut Hills Country Club in Sedalia. Mary Jo dedicated her life to helping others and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and many accomplishments and will cherish the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Sedalia, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rosary Services at 6:30, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Honor Flight or to St. Anthony Catholic Church in care of the funeral home at 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, Missouri 65020.
