Melody Joy Sackett, daughter of Melvin and Gloria Boone Meister, was born October 13, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. She departed this life Sunday morning, August 11, 2019 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-three years, nine months and twenty-nine days. On December 5, 1964, she was united in marriage to Dell Ray Sackett and to this union one son was born. Together they shared fifty-four years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Gloria Meister and her sister-in-law, Jennifer Meister. Melody is survived by her husband, Dell Ray Sackett and her son Michael Ray Sackett, both of Camdenton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Ran Dell Ray Sackett and his wife Courtney of Springfield, Missouri, Elizabeth Virginia Kaus and husband Jonathan Lee of Camdenton, Missouri and Emily Nadine McGhghy and husband Josh of Lebanon, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren, Rylen, Aven, Ren, Viviana, Norah, Emma and Landon; two brothers, Melvin Meister and wife Linda of St. Amant, Louisiana and John Meister of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Susie Kinzinger and husband Art of Roberts, Illinois and Cory Webster and husband Ace of Camdenton, Missouri, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. She worked at Basler Electric in Highland, Illinois, Mechanics Plaining Mill in Edwardsville, Illinois, B & M Manufacturing and Electrovert both in Camdenton, Missouri. Melody was saved at an early age and shared her love for our Lord Jesus Christ with many. She loved to play gospel music on the piano and had a beautiful singing voice. She sang with her family for many years. Some of her favorite songs were, “It is No Secret What God Can Do”, “Amazing Grace” and “I’ll Fly Away”. She loved to work in her yard and she loved her Schnauzers, especially her special puppy “Peanut”. Melody has blessed so many with precious memories that they will treasure forever. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be truly missed by all. We know that heaven has gained an amazing woman and that we will all be greeted by her when we enter the pearly gates of Heaven. Memorial services will be held, 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to a fund that has been established. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
