James Mikel “Mike” Luttrell, son of Hamen and Zilphia (Rhinehart) Luttrell, was born March 3, 1953 in Tuscumbia, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in San Felipe, Usila, Mexico at the age of seventy-one years, six months, and twenty-one days.
On October 5, 1973, Mike was united in marriage to Connie Allee and to together they shared nearly fifty-one years.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Clint, Lynn, Ovid, Okie, Dean, Donnie, Jackie, Ronnie, Terry and Bonnie.
He is survived by his wife, Connie of the home; his children, Heather Luttrell of Crocker, Missouri, Jason Luttrell of Montreal, Missouri, and Brandon Decker and wife Carlee of Qulin, Missouri; his grandchildren, Luke and Harper Decker; his siblings, Betty Johnston and husband John, Sharon Quern and Sally Durham; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Mike grew up in Brumley and was a graduate of Osage High School in the Class of 1971. He spent time working at Tan-Tar-A in Convention services before working for Dawson in Machine Set-up for twenty-three years. Mike later attended Central Texas Community College and retired as an Electrician after working for Quality Electric for many years.
Mike was saved during a revival at Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Camdenton for many years. He was very active in the church and had taught Sunday School to the first and second grade groups for the last ten years. He served in VBS, Life 3:16 Missions and the Church Properties Committee.
Mike enjoyed traveling and had taken many special trips with his family throughout the years. One special trip was to Jackson Hole, Wyoming on a Missions trip where he was able to go Whitewater rafting. He had recently been to the Ark Encounter in Kentucky this past summer and shared that story with anyone that would listen.
In his spare time, Mike enjoyed taking care of his cattle, his cats and dogs. Spending time with his family and grandchildren was something that he absolutely cherished. He was a jack of all trades and found great joy in helping those who could not help themselves.
Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in the First Baptist Church of Camdenton with burial to follow in the Montreal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm Tuesday, October 1, 2024 in the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Montreal Cemetery or Operation Christmas Child Postage Fund at First Baptist Church and may be left at the church or mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home at 15 Clint Ave., Camdenton, MO 65020.
