Mildred Ofa Lewis

Mildred Ofa McCrory Lewis, daughter of John Stephen McCrory and Maude Ezard, was born, December 25, 1907 in Zebra, Missouri. She departed this life, December 09, 2018, in her home, Estero, Florida at the age of One hundred and ten years, eleven months and fourteen days. On August 23, 1930 she was united in marriage to Earl Lewis and to this union two children were born. Together they shared Sixty three years of marriage She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Lewis, daughter, Rozanne McCandless, her parents, brothers, John McCrory and Glenn McCrory, daughters, Wilda Farmer and Vera Bobbitt. She is survived by her son, Thomas Lewis and wife Valerie of Fort Myers, Florida, grandsons, Scott McCandless and wife Kelly of Cleveland, Ohio and Stephen Lewis and wife Lindsay of Minneapolis, Minnesota,; one great grandson David Lewis,; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mildred was born in Zebra, Missouri and grew up in Old Linn Creek. She attended William Woods College and then graduated from Lincoln University in Jefferson City. After graduating college she went on to work as an Elementary Teacher for twenty five years in Jefferson City. Mildred made a profession of faith and was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She was the President of the Capital City Women's Club and the Jefferson City Women's Club. She was active in the Retired Teachers Association of Missouri and was also a Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018 in Dale Blair Cemetery, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery, Camdenton, Missouri.
