Nancy Ann (Birdsong) Patton, born to Estel Lee Birdsong and Elizabeth Caroline Birdsong on October 7, 1933, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of 91.
Nancy was 15 years old when her younger brother, Ken, was born. She cherished their bond, often riding the city bus with him to her job as the church secretary at First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff while he attended kindergarten there. Years later, she taught Ken how to drive.
Nancy's life journey took her to Las Vegas for a time before she returned to Poplar Bluff. Over the years, she lived in Moberly, Missouri, Kansas City, and worked for the telephone company in Kirksville. She eventually retired at the Lake of the Ozarks in Roach, Missouri. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Nancy achieved her goal of pursuing higher education later in life and earned a Master's degree in Theology from Life Christian University.
On May 25, 1975, Nancy married the love of her life, Jack Wayne Patton, in Kirksville, Missouri. Together, they shared 37 wonderful years of marriage before Jack's passing in 2013.
Nancy accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age and her faith played a central role throughout her life. She and Jack were devoted members of Walk on the Water Faith Church since 1999, serving as deacons and actively contributing to their church community. Nancy also volunteered with Lamb House, where she represented WOW with dedication and compassion.
Nancy is reunited in heaven with her husband Jack. She was preceded in death by her parents Estel and Elizabeth Birdsong, and her sisters Patty Lee Burnett and Betty Jo Volner.
Her memory lives on in the hearts of her family: her daughter Dixie Patrick and husband Brian; her grandsons Charles and Eli; her stepdaughters Sandy Cruz and husband Gary, their children Madeline, Michaela, and their families; Mary Adams and husband Mark, their children Dustin, Melissa, Kelly, and their families; and her brother Kenneth Birdsong and his wife Tammy of Florida.
A private family service was held for her burial. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Walk on the Water Faith Church in Osage Beach, Missouri on Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to honor Nancy's legacy of faith and love to the Building Fund of Walk on the Water Faith Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
