OPAL HARDIN Opal Evelyn Hardin, daughter of Riley Spencer and Emmer Lucy Anderson Leffert, was born, April 7, 1924 in Camden County, Missouri. She departed this life, Wednesday, November 26, 2008 in St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of eighty-four years, seven months and twenty days. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude Edward Hardin; a son, Leonard William Ray, Jr.; two brothers, Jewell S. Leffert and John R. Leffert and two sisters, Agusta I. Mace and Hester Pickens. Survivors include her children, Lucy Ray Dailey and husband Edward of Overland Park, Kansas, Sharon Kay Ray West and husband Warren of Buffalo, Missouri, Nancy Ray Halderman and husband Larry of Eldon, Missouri, Linda Fay Ray Rayl and husband Ronnie of Versailles, Missouri, Dennis Wayne Ray and wife Ronda of Raymore, Missouri and Andrew Eugene Causey of Cameron, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar Leffert of Versailles, Missouri; two sisters, Isabelle Winebrenner of Camdenton, Missouri and Beulah Faye Danuser of Montreal, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was raised in Camden County and moved to Lee's Summitt, Missouri in the 1950's. She lived in the Kansas City area most of her life. She worked as Director of Housekeeping for St. Luke's Hospital for many years and later at Longview College in Lee's Summitt. She retired to Versailles, Missouri in 1989. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Barnett Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking for her family. She collected dolls and referred to them as her babies. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Opal was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 1, 2008 in Myetta Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Myetta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Barnett Baptist Church and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
