ORVILLE WIPPERMAN Orville Wipperman, son of Orville and Ethel Large, Wipperman, was born April 1, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life, Thursday, January 5, 2012 in his home, Bradenton, Florida at the age of eighty-seven years, nine months and four days. On December 22, 1945, he was united in marriage to Doris Fern McCormick and to this union four children were born. Together they shared sixty-three years of marriage before her passing on March 26, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parent, Orville and Ethel Wipperman. Survivors include two sons, Bill Wipperman and wife Marcie of Bradenton, Florida and Leonard Wipperman and wife Susan of McMinneville, Oregon; two daughters, Dyanna Hurley of Banning, California and Kathy Mumaw and husband Chris of Anaheim, California; two brothers, Lloyd Wipperman and Carl Wipperman both of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister, Bessie Ryan of Vacaville, California; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and many friends. He proudly served his country in World War II including a landing at Normandy. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After years of working for the railroad in Arizona, where he and Doris raised their four children, Orville and Doris eventually returned to Missouri. He later served several years as Chief of Police in Camdenton and Windsor, Missouri. Orville and Doris lived in Eldon, Missouri for a time before retiring to Bradenton, Florida in 2003 where they enjoyed eight plus wonderful years. His joy in life came from his family, friends and his music. A singer of country songs and a guitarist, Orville loved to perform and for many years pursued a professional career. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2012 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Monday in the funeral home. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Oneco United Methodist Church, 2112 53rd Ave. East, Bradenton, FL 34203 or left at the funeral home Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
