PAUL E. McNURLIN Paul Edward McNurlin, son of John Quincy and Pearl Buckley McNurlin, was born, April 6, 1925 in Ashland, Kentucky. He departed this life, Monday, January 19, 2015, in University Hospital, Columbia, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years, nine months and thirteen days. On July 21, 1945 in Vinita, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Aleain Mae McDonough and to this union three children were born. Together they shared sixty-nine years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Paul McNurlin, Jr.; eleven siblings, Lennie Lutz, Wid McNurlin, Walter McNurlin, John Q. McNurlin, II, Paul McNurlin, George McNurlin, Harry McNurlin, Laura Marie Crose, Ray McNurlin, Francis “Jack” McNurlin and Bessie Brown. Survivors include his wife, Aleain McNurlin of Osage Beach, Missouri; a daughter, Janice McNurlin of Osage Beach, Missouri; a son, Donald McNurlin and wife Toni of Michigan City, Indiana; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Ray McNurlin of Bradenton, Florida; a special family friend, Arlene Vilar and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Paul was raised in Ashland, Kentucky and graduated high school there. He was a hard worker throughout his life and worked various jobs in various places. They moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in November of 1969 and owned Lake Edge and Coronado Beach Resorts and later Y Road Salvage. Paul made a profession of faith and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and fixing things. He loved working with the grandchildren on local dirt track racing. Most of all, time spent with his family was precious to him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2015 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Riverview Baptist Church and left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.alleeholmanhowe.com.
