Purley Ash, 91 of Camdenton passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at Lenoir Senior Services, Columbia. She was born in Montreal, Missouri, April 20, 1929, the daughter of Goss and Bessie Piles. Purley was united in marriage to Lenford Ash, September 23, 1945 in Montreal, Missouri. They were married almost sixty-two years. She was preceded in death by her husband Lenford, parents, Goss and Bessie Piles, and son-in-law Greg Collins. Survivors include daughters; Reta Collins of Columbia and Debbie Wilson and her husband Bill of Jefferson City; her grandchildren Matt Collins and wife Emily of Columbia, Brian Collins of Manchester, and Gabby Wilson of Kansas City, and her twin sister Burley Shivers, Montreal. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Purley was raised in Montreal, later moving to Kansas City, working at Sears and Roebuck while Lenford was in the Army. When Lenford returned from the Army, they moved to Bunceton, then later to Camdenton. After returning to Camdenton, she started babysitting in their home which later turned into a licensed day care center she owned and ran for over 30 years. She loved children and made sure they felt loved and well cared for. She was an excellent cook and made sure holiday meals were always special. She also loved fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, and canning produce her family enjoyed all winter. She was a member of Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church in Montreal. She loved the church and church family; and enjoyed participating in special events and bible school. Purley was a loving wife and mother, with a little sass and a smile for everyone. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church, Montreal, Missouri with burial following in the Montreal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until time of service. Memorial donations may be made to Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church and left at the church or mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, Missouri 65020. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
