RALPH SCHANUEL Ralph Irvin Schanuel, son of Irvin Schanuel and Mabel Schmidt (Leroy) Campbell, was born, March 1, 1942 in Belleville, Illinois. He departed this life, Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Landmark Hospital, Columbia, Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years and twenty-nine days. On July 17, 1965 in Millstadt, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Rochelle Rae Rujawitz and to this union three children were born. Together they shared the past forty-four years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Leroy Campbell. Survivors include his wife, Rochelle Schanuel of the home, three children, Rona Welsch and husband Brian of Swansea, Illinois, Randy Schanuel and wife Jennifer of Camdenton, Missouri, and Ryan Schanuel and wife Erin of Boynton Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Olivia Schanuel, Nolan Schanuel, Brianna Schanuel and Karlee Welsch, and Ashley Nagy; a sister, Patricia Koenig and husband Roger of Ogden, Utah; a brother-in-law, Ron Rujawitz and wife Sandy of St. Jacob, Illinois and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Ralph was raised in Belleville, Illinois and graduated from high school there in the class of 1959. He did an apprenticeship in the Tool and Die trade and worked for Kettler Tool and Die. He later worked for O'Fallon Tool and Die. He became a supervisor for Stag Brewery in the brew house and bottle shop. The family moved to the lake area where he worked for Fasco Industries in Eldon, Missouri. He was a co-owner of the White Oak Club in Freeburg, Illinois. He was a member of the Quail Club, and a group of friends who called themselves the Boozers Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and woodworking, making toys for his children. He coached his boys in baseball and always enjoyed attending their games. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Monday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and left at the funeral home or by mail at Leukemia and Lymphoma Society c/o Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
