Raymond W. Long departed this life on April 26, 2018 at his Osage Beach home. He was born July 13, 1921 in Gladstone, Michigan, a son of the late Marion F. and Lydia M (Hillman) Long. He was ninety-six years, nine months, and thirteen days of age. Raymond was united in marriage to Dorothy Janet (Peterson) Long on January 10, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois and together they shared seventy-two wonderful years of marriage. They had three children together. He was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene in Camdenton, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and skiing. Raymond is survived by a daughter, Janet Horchner of Camdenton, Missouri; a son, Jerry G. Long of Leadville, Colorado; a sister, Carol J. Wyatt of Gladstone, Michigan; eight grandsons, Todd Horchner, Troy Horchner, Ryan Long, Andrew Long, Raymond Long, Erick Reveles, Manny Reveles, John Reveles; one granddaughter, Oly Warner; two daughters-in-law, Kathy Long of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Lucy Bullock of Osage Beach, Missouri; twelve great-grandchildren and three nieces, Audra Steinhoff, Stephanie Spreen and Patty Hengesh. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Janet (Peterson) Long; his parents; a son, Jack Long; a grandson, Keith Long; three brothers, Lyle, Vernon, and Arlon Long and a sister, Marjorie Kircher. He was a WW II Veteran with the United States Army. Raymond was an International Representative for The United Papermakers Union for many years. He was also a member of The American Legion and Full Gospel Businessmen. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at New Life Church of the Nazarene, Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Inurnment will be in Fernwood Cemetery, Gladstone, Michigan at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Medical Missions for Christ, 1974 N Business Route 5 Camdenton, Missouri 65020-2612 in his memory. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, MO.
