Richard Lee “Rick” Jackson, son of Rolla Vance and Virginia Aileen (Greer) Jackson, was born February 15, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, December 2, 2023 in his home, Buckner, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, nine months and seventeen days.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Richard Valentine Jackson.
Rick is survived by his children, Michelle Cicardo and husband Todd, of New Windsor, New York, Jayson Scott Jackson of Camdenton, Missouri; a sister Jane Bordenaro and husband Don, of Buckner, Missouri; a brother Robert Jackson and wife Nelia, of the Philippines; grandchildren, Blake Ann Kish, Heather Michelle Parsons, Melissa Dawn Parsons, Alexis Louise Ford, Trenton James Ford, Emily Jackson, Richard Logan Jackson, Phillip Scott Jackson , Alliah Jo Jackson, and Lauren Jackson; 6 great-grandchildren Rylen Shilling, Sawyer Shilling, Colin Cates, Arlo Cates, Emerald Sikes, Wesley Sikes; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
Richard grew up in the Kansas City area. He was a graduate of Grandview High School in the Class of 1967. Following graduation, Rick enlisted in United States Navy and served on the USS RANGER during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Rick returned home and started his career as a Signalman for the Union Pacific Railroad. He retired after thirty years of service.
Rick enjoyed photography and took many pictures of his travels throughout the years. He loved riding his Harley and looked forward to his annual trip to Florida to watch the Daytona 500 with family. He was also a farmer and for a while raised Rottweilers.
Rick was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.
Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in Granger Cemetery, Climax Springs, Missouri. Officiated by his brother-in-law Dr. Don Bordenaro. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
