Robert William “Bob” Johnson, son of the late Arnold & Dorothy (Dinger) Johnson, was born on July 8, 1948 and departed this life on October 6, 2020. At the time of his passing he was seventy-two years, two months and twenty-eight days of age. Bob was born in Fredericktown, Missouri grew up in St. Louis, and then graduated from Wentzville High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Shortly after returning home from the war he was united in marriage to Kathy Howard and to this union three children were born. Together they lived in Illinois where they started their family while Bob worked for the railroad. The family then moved to Springfield, Missouri where he attended Central Bible College and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Ministry. His ministry led him to pastor an Assembly of God church in Sterling, Kansas for five years and then as an assistant pastor at the Assembly of God church in Lyons, Kansas. The family resided in Sterling until the children had all graduated from high school. During this time, he attained his bachelor’s degree in education at Sterling College. Bob and Kathy then moved to various places before finally settling down at the Lake of the Ozarks. In his spare time, he truly loved hunting, fishing, spending time with family and watching the St. Louis Cardinals or Kansas City Chiefs. He was very sociable, making sure he never met a stranger and always professing his faith. Bob was preceded in passing by his parents and his brother, Dennis Wayne Johnson. He is survived by his three children, Bryan & wife Nina Johnson, Cheri & husband Brad Hysell, and Robbie Johnson; three sisters, Debbie & husband Tom Robinson, Taina Johnson and Tammy & husband Skip Zey; two brothers, Jim Johnson and Ron Johnson; five grandchildren, Tyler Hysell, Calvin Hysell, Logan Johnson, Martha Johnson and Paiton Johnson; and many nephews and nieces.
