Ronald James Jansen, Sr., was born February 26, 1944 in Appleton, Wisconsin. He departed this life Friday, June 17, 2016 in his home, Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, three months, and twenty-two days. On August 4, 1990, Ron was united in marriage to Brenda Schatz. His parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law; and a stepson, Bradley Schatz, preceded him in death. Ron is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the home; his son, Ronald Jansen, Jr. and wife Vicki, of Eldridge, Missouri; daughters, Hope Dame, of Lebanon, Missouri and Angela Willis and husband Clayton, of West Plains, Missouri; stepsons, William Schatz, Jr., and wife Terri, of Tampa, Florida, and Matthew Schatz and wife Jan, of Camdenton, Missouri; a step-daughter, Shelley Dougan and husband Steve, of Linn Creek, Missouri; his siblings, Coreen Sanders, of, Kimberly Wisconsin, Jerry Jansen and wife, Ann, of Fremont, Wisconsin, Mary Gail Vandehey, of Little Chute, Wisconsin, and Jeff Jansen and wife Deb, of Combined Locks, Wisconsin; thirty-eight ish grandchildren, twenty-two ish great-grandchildren; his pet cat, Lacey; as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends. Ron spent his younger years living in Wisconsin and entered into the United Marine Corps in 1960. He faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged, with the rank of Lance Corporal, in 1965. While serving in the Marine Corps, Ron had earned the Good Conduct Medal and the Rifle Marksmanship Badge. Ron had accepted Christ as his Savior and was attending Phillipsburg United Methodist Church in Phillipsburg, Missouri. Ron was a man of many hobbies. He enjoyed his large eagle collection; known to his grandchildren, as buzzards or turkeys! He also had quite a knife collection. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, going to auctions, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and cheered them on every chance he could. He was a kind-hearted man who never met a stranger and enjoyed making new friends. Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends. Funeral services for Ronald will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Friday evening also at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton
