Ronald "Ron" J. Wynn

Ronald James “Ron” Wynn, son of William and Maxine (Davis) Wynn, was born November 11, 1941 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He departed this life Sunday, April 7, 2024 in the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mexico, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years, four months and twenty-eight days.

On April 10, 1971, Ron was united in marriage to Beverly Sue Trammell and together they shared thirty-three years until her passing on June 7, 2004.

Ron was also preceded in death by his son, Jim Wynn; his parents; his brothers, Marvin and Rex; and a nephew, Dean Trammell.

He is survived by his sons, David Wynn and wife Rhonda and Bill Wynn, all of Burlington, Iowa; his grandchildren, Brent, Mariah, Drew, Lexi and Landon; seven great-grandchildren, including Palmer, who was very special to him, and one more on the way; one brother, Doug Wynn and wife Sarah of Warsaw, Missouri; one sister Nora Lee Carder and husband Perry of Thayer, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ron grew up in Ottumwa and was drafted into the United States Marine Corps in 1965. He faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps Reserves in 1971. Following his discharge, Ron moved to California where he met and married Beverly. He worked as a Tool and Die Maker for several years until moving to the Climax Springs area where he worked as a bus driver for the Climax Springs School District. He then worked in the maintenance department at the Camdenton R-III school district until his retirement.

Ron previously was member of Walk on the Water Faith Church in Osage Beach for many years where he served as a security guard and most recently was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Climax Springs.

He was a union trained machinist, skilled woodworker and made many beautiful pieces of furniture and was a talented upholsterer as well. He enjoyed watching tv, reading his bible, watching baseball games, fireworks and feeding his family whenever possible. He was a God-fearing man and was thankful for the life that God had given him.

Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.
