ROY O'NEAL Roy J. O'Neal, son of Roy J. O'Neal Sr. and Edith Worley O'Neal, was born, February 4, 1919 in Augusta, Kansas. He departed this life, Sunday, October 3, 2010, in Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of ninety-one years, seven months and twenty-nine days. On July 23, 1937 in Norton, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Erma Irene Manner and to this union two children were born. Together they shared sixty-one years of marriage until her passing on January 21, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy L. O'Neal and two sisters, Marjorie Collins and Dora Fay Stewart. Survivors include his daughter, Donna Hull of Salina, Kansas; six grandchildren, Michael Hull and wife Janelle of Salina, Kansas, Patrick Hull and wife Rhonda of Lindsborg, Kansas, Robert Hull of Salina, Kansas, Teresa Cowsert and husband Steve of Topeka, Kansas, Dustin O'Neal and wife Mary of Camdenton, Missouri and Misti Watson and husband Tim of Spring Hill, Tennessee; eighteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a companion, Stella Smith of Linn Creek, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roy was raised in Norton, Kansas and attended school there. He served his country proudly in the United States Army under General Patton during World War II. He received four Bronze Stars before being honorably discharged. He was employed at Ideal Truck Lines and was an over-the-road truck driver for many years. Roy made a profession of faith and was a member of Camdenton United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, garage sales and playing cards. He volunteered many hours at the Lamb House in Camdenton. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and companion and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 7, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Camdenton United Methodist Church or Windsor Estates and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
