Ruth Esteph

RUTH ESTEPH Inis Ruth Esteph, daughter of Ed and Lula Mae Griggs Bailey, was born, January 11, 1917 in Harrisburg, Missouri. She departed this life, Wednesday, October 23, 2013, in Ozark Rehabilitation and Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety-six years, nine months and twelve days. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Betty Ann Welch and Larry Payne and ten siblings. Survivors include two daughters, Louise Bottino and husband Joe of Columbia, Missouri and Kathy Scott and husband Emmitt of Osage Beach, Missouri; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Ruth was raised in Boone County, Missouri and attended school there. She lived in various places including Kansas City, Missouri and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she worked as a waitress. She moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1986 and worked for the Knolls Resort. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, doing crafts and sewing. She participated in the Senior Olympics and won several medals. Most of all she enjoyed time spent with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. A memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
