Sharon Ann Schnebly, daughter of William Leonard Leitch and Mary (Kimberlin) Leitch, was born on December 26, 1944 and departed this life on August 12, 2024. At the time of her passing, Sharon was seventy-nine years, seven months and seventeen days of age.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Loren Schnebly; and two siblings, Jean (Leitch) Wilde and William “Bill” Leitch Jr.
She is survived by her children, Michael & wife Mary Schnebly, Curt & wife Heather Schnebly and William Schnebly; two grandchildren, Lillian “Lily” Schnebly and Dylan Schnebly; and her niece, Joan Kaye Wilde.
Sharon was raised in Horton, Kansas, later graduating from high school in the class of 1962. Following her high school graduation, Sharon was united in marriage to Loren Schnebly on October 27, 1963. She would attend Washburn University and graduate, with honors, in the class of 1988.
Throughout her working years, Sharon spent many years serving as the county clerk of Wetmore, Kansas, general manager of Jones Store in Topeka, Kansas and then after she moved to Lake of the Ozarks, she began working for the City of Osage Beach until her retirement.
Sharon made a profession of faith and was a member of Wetmore United Methodist Church.
In her spare time, Sharon truly enjoyed spending time with the quilting clubs; she loved quilting and would donate many of her quilts to auctions. She was also very involved with the Camden County Museum, performing and watching the various plays they would host. When Sharon was not spending her time quilting or being involved with the Camden County Museum, she enjoyed reading, traveling all over the world with husband Loren, spending time with her cats and above all, cherishing each and every moment spent with her grandchildren.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
