SHERRY EWING Sharon Yvonne Ewing, daughter of William Eugene Turner and Charlotte Ann Rogers Sturk, was born, January 1, 1959 in Albia, Iowa. She departed this life, Monday, November 8, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of fifty-one years, ten months and seven days. On April 23, 1982, she was united in marriage to Doug Ewing. Together they shared twelve years of marriage before his passing in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Stephen Summers and a grandson, Dylan Summers. Survivors include four children, Chris Summers and wife Tina of Keokuk, Iowa; Douglas Ewing of Long Beach, California; Tim Ewing and wife Stephanie of Oak Harbor, Washington and Amie Waldemer and husband Shaun of Mesa, Arizona; five grandchildren, Hailee Summers, Brian Ewing, Brandon Ewing, Jenna Summers and Kaia Waldemer; her grandmother, Dorothy Van Dorin of Albia, Iowa; a brother, Kenneth Turner; two sisters, Becky Hendricks and Carolyn Price; a step-father, Alvin Sturk and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Sharon was raised in the Albia, Iowa area and attended school there. She later moved to Keokuk, Iowa where she lived for many years. While there she worked as a custodian and bus driver for the Keokuk School District. She later worked for Tykel and Methode. She was currently employed by Camdenton R-III School District as a custodian at Hawthorne Elementary. Sharon made a profession of faith and was a member of the Potter's House Church. She was also a proud and active member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. She enjoyed collecting figurines, especially ducks, roosters and loved angels. She took pleasure in photography and motorcycles. She was a fan of country and gospel music. She was a loving mother, grandmother, granddaughter, sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m., Friday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Potter's House Church or the Christian Motorcycle Association and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
