Sherman Lee Carroll, son of Roy and Nellie Goldsberry Carroll, was born March 31, 1940 in Jefferson City, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, February 5, 2017 in his home, at the age of seventy six years, ten months, and five days. Sherman was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his; two sons, Joe Carroll and wife Alicia of Iberia, Missouri, and John Scharphorn of Iberia, Missouri; a daughter, Angie Tabon and husband Diego of Atlanta, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Sherman was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the Class of 1958. He entered into the United States Navy five years after graduating high school and was honorable discharged. He had worked as a Communicator on a ship. He later went on to become a Chief Company Commander at Great Lakes, Illinois Recruiting Center. Sherman had accepted Christ as a child and attended Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in his earlier years. Sherman spent the majority of his life living here in Camdenton. Working as a Quality Control Inspector at Modine, he owned 5-91 Auto Salvage for many years, transported car for local dealerships, and worked on the family farm many years. He was a successful bowler, was in bowling leagues for many years at Zodiac Lanes and also traveled the state bowling. He could be found at the local auctions during the weekends. Sherman was a loving son, father, grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2017 in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to a fund established to assist the family and may be sent to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home at 15 Clint Ave., Camdenton, Missouri 65020. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
