Sherry Jon Clemmons, daughter of Johnny L. Shipman and Bonnie May Blankenship Shipman, was born, December 20, 1951 in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life, Sunday, August 11, 2024, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-two years, seven months and twenty-two days.
On December 9, 1977 in the Church of Christ in Camdenton, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Paul R. Clemmons and to this union one son was born.
She was preceded in death by husband and her parents.
Survivors include her son, Matthew Clemmons of Montreal, Missouri; her granddaughter, Lilith Clemmons of Montreal, Missouri; her sister, Sharon Dearin and husband Ray of Ames, Iowa; two nephews, John David Dearin of Atlanta, Georgia and Stephen James Dearin and wife Shannon of St. Augustine, Florida; her great nieces and nephews, Sidney Jillian Dearin, Seth James Dearin and Sean Logan Dearin and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Sherry grew up at Ozark Fisheries near Stoutland, Missouri. She attended and graduated from Stoutland school. After graduation, she attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas where she received her BA in Physical Education. Sherry had worked at the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, Crowell Distributing and Lake Regional Health Systems. She retired from the hospital after thirty years of service. She was the long time Treasurer for the Camden County Freedom Cemeteries.
Sherry made a profession of faith and was a member of Camdenton Church of Christ.
In her spare time, she had a passion for listening to blue grass music and would attend regular singings at the coffee shop. She was an avid Camdenton Laker Football fan. Sherry enjoyed studying history, especially local genealogy and loved animals, mainly dogs and cats.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Sherry would always brighten our days with her beautiful smile.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2024 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery, Montreal. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, August 14, 2024 in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Freedom Cemetery and left at the funeral home or mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, Missouri 65020.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
