Skip And Sandy

Gregory “Skip” L. Mondry III, 68, and Sandra Lucille Harper, 70, of Camdenton, MO died unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Sandy passed away on September 4th and Skip joined her on September 8th. Their loss was a complete shock and the family is deeply saddened. Skip Mondry was born on June 6th, 1952 to Gregory and Beverly Mondry in Evergreen Park, IL. Sandy Harper was born on December 27th, 1949 to Donald and Evelyn Harper in Naperville, IL. Professionally, Skip worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company and Sandy was a computer programmer at Electronic Data Systems as well as Spiegel Catalog Company. Skip was everyone’s “buddy” and loved boating, “tricked out” cars and trucks, and anything Harley Davidson. He enjoyed being heavily involved with the Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson H.O.G. group and having morning breakfast with the guys. Sandy had an immense passion for gardening as evidenced by the bountiful and ornate flower and vegetable gardens around her home and was honored to be an officer in the Arrowhead Garden Club. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved quilting, crafting, and playing cards weekly with the girls. Anyone who knew Skip and Sandy knew that they were happy to retire to Missouri to spend more time doing things they loved at “the lake.” They filled their 25 year marriage with traveling, boating, and remodeling homes and, in the last few years, dinners and cross-country trips with H.O.G. friends. Needless to say, they lived life to the fullest. Skip is survived by his daughter Jacalyn (James) Sandusky and siblings Janice (Larry) Lindwall, Joel (Nancy) Mondry, and Patsy Mondry. He is preceded in death by parents Gregory and Beverly Mondry and siblings Johnnie and Michael. Sandy is survived by her daughter Cheryl Lynn (Brian) Gretz and brother Donald “Butch” Harper, Jr. (Terry Ellis). She is preceded in death by her dear daughter Amy Gene and parents Donald and Evelyn Harper. They loved and adored their four grandchildren Taylor (19), Jeremy (14), Leah (11), and Ryan (8). Visitation will be Friday, September 18 from 1:00 to 3:00pm followed by a memorial service from 3:00 t0 4:00pm. All services will be held at Alle-Holman-Howe, 15 Clint Ave. in Camdenton, MO with an additional memorial to be held in Chicago with details to be announced later.
