Stanley F. Cady, 94, of Macks Creek, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 11, 2016. He was born December 5, 1921 in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania, a son of William H. Cady and Ruth A. Foust Cady. On March 22, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas, Stan was united in marriage to Betty J Young. They enjoyed 64 years of wedded bliss until Betty’s passing in 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; three children, Keith Andrew, who died at birth, Andy Cady and Belinda Kay Rausch; as well as three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his brother Steve Cady of Pennsylvania; sister Jean Ward of Arizona; daughter, Bertie Jacobson and husband Tom; son-in-law John Rausch; seven grandchildren, Betty Linton and husband Danny; Drew Tucker and partner Samantha, Jincy Vaughan and husband Joey, Kevin Tucker and partner Natalie, Amber Fiene, Brandy Cady and Chris Cady; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Stan served his country as a member of the United States 2528th Army Air Force Base Unit from 1943 – 1946. Stan earned the rank of Sergeant while serving in the military as an airplane mechanic, specifically the B17 bomber planes. During his service, he earned the World War I Victory medal, American Campaign medal, and Good Conduct medal. Stan worked as a carpenter and farmer for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed many hobbies including making wood furniture, home-made wine, and crafting knives. Out of love for his family he made many beautiful cedar chests and hand-made knives for them to treasure. Stan also enjoyed gardening, and had a green thumb for tomatoes and lettuce. He grew so many tomatoes; his wife had to start canning them. Stan was an avid reader who also had a never ending supply of his own stories and jokes. Sitting with Stan, listening to his stories that took you back in time, and his colorful jokes, was a favorite pastime of his family and friends. Stan's strength and leadership to his family has left them with memories and traditions that will last for generations. He will forever be loved and remembered by those who knew him. A celebration of life and remembrance will be held at his residence for family, friends, and neighbors, on Sunday, January 31st between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Interment will occur at a later date in the Cady Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
