Stanley Szkubiel, aged 75, passed away on October 11, 2024, in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Born December 21, 1948, in Detroit, MI, Stanley spent his life as a beacon of kindness and warmth. He graduated from South Lake High School in East Detroit, MI.
He and his wife Donna were high school sweethearts and married in East Detroit, MI on January 31, 1969. They were happily married for 55 years and were a true reflection of a loving marriage. Stanley dedicated many years to working as a tool and die maker. He and his wife, Donna, also served as missionaries with New Tribes Mission for over a decade.
Stanley was a man who cherished the simple joys of life. He was an avid traveler and cruiser, loved the ocean, enjoyed gardening, and loved spending time outdoors and camping. His greatest pleasure was time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Stanley was also known for his deep affection for his dog, Maggie, who was a constant companion.
Stanley’s life was a testament to his faith in God. He was a devoted member of Canopy Church, where his Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, with visitation from 11 am to 12 pm followed by the service at the church located at 208 Willow Creek Dr. Camdenton, MO 65020.
Stanley leaves behind his loving wife, Donna; his children, Julie (Bruce) Hollingsworth, David (Renee) Szkubiel, Ruth (Curt) Brown, and Heather (Scott) Huntington. He was a proud grandfather to Allyson, Logan (Hailee), and Reghan Hollingsworth; Jacob and Zachary Szkubiel; Olivia, Maxwell, and Mallory Brown; and Noah Huntington. He was also a great-grandfather to Elijah Musa. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Donald (Angela) Szkubiel and John (Shawn) Szkubiel. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Wanda Szkubiel, and his sister, Debbie Herron.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Dogwood Animal Shelter or Medical Missions for Christ Clinic in Camdenton, MO, reflecting his love for animals and commitment to missionary work. Stanley's life was marked by his gentle spirit, generosity, and the profound impact he had on those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
