Teresa Lynn Hicks, also known as “Ec”, daughter of Warren and Betty Geneva Shepherd Burch, was born December 16, 1962 in Columbia, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, February 12, 2017 in University Hospital, Columbia, Missouri, at the age of fifty-four years, one month, and twenty-seven days. On January 5, 1981, Teresa was united in marriage to George Hicks, and to this union two sons were born. Her parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Mike Burch; and a sister, Darlene Conner, preceded Teresa in death. Teresa is survived by her husband, George, of the home; two sons, George A. Hicks, and Justin L. Hicks, both of Camdenton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Gwendalyn, Regan, and Nicholas; a number of nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Teresa grew up in the Linn Creek and Camdenton areas and attended Camdenton Schools. She had spent time working as a waitress and later in the kitchen at Windsor Estates in Camdenton. Teresa was saved at an early age, and was a member of Myetta Missionary Baptist Church. Teresa’s grandchildren were her pride and joy, she enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. In her spare time, she liked to do scrapbooking, painting, collecting coca cola and Mickey Mouse items and loved to spoil her husband and two sons. She was an excellent cook and made many great meals for her family to enjoy. Teresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
