Thelma 'Dixie' Rothenbuehler

THELMA "DIXIE" ROTHENBUEHLER Thelma Ellen Rothenbuehler, daughter of William and Hazel Jester Dix, was born, July 15, 1916 in Valley Springs, South Dakota. She departed this life, Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of ninety-eight years and twenty-eight days. On September 2, 1938, she was united in marriage to Edwin Matthew Rothenbuehler and to this union two children were born. Together they shared twenty-five years of marriage until his passing in February of 1964. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Veloy Wilson. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Huber and husband Tim of Camdenton, Missouri and son, John Rothenbuehler and wife Heidi of Wheatland, Wyoming; three grandchildren, Brady Huber of Granite City, Illinois, Mike Huber of Jefferson City, Missouri and Marcus Rothenbuehler of Wheatland, Wyoming; two great-grandchildren, Colton and Dylan Huber and a host of other relatives and many friends. Thelma was raised in South Dakota and lived there for seventy years. She was a tailor for a men's clothing store for many years. She retired to the Lake of the Ozarks. Thelma was baptized into the Lutheran Church, later converted to Catholicism and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She was one of the founding members of the Crafty Ladies at St. Anthony. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, sewing and playing cards. She enjoyed traveling when she had the opportunity. Most of all, she loved taking care of others. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m., Saturday in the church. Burial will be at a later date in St. Michael's Cemetery, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church and left at the funeral home or the church. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
