Thelma Hoggard

Thelma Hoggard, daughter of Hammer and Mary House Evans, was born, March 3, 1917 in Burbank, Missouri. She departed this life, Sunday, July 12, 2009, in Laurie Care Center, Laurie, Missouri at the age of ninety-two years, four months and nine days. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold D. Hoggard and a grandson, Mitchell Crites. Survivors include her son, Fred Crites and wife Carol of Climax Springs, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Kelsey Crites; two brothers, Art Evans of the state of Wisconsin and Don Evans of Hyrm, Missouri and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Thelma was raised in the Burbank, Missouri area and attended school there. At the age of sixteen, the family moved to St. Louis. She worked and retired from Emerson Electric where she helped wire the first space capsule. In 1980, she retired to the Lake of the Ozarks. She loved the lake and in her spare time enjoyed fishing. She enjoyed sewing and made many wonderful projects throughout the years. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Thelma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for his family and friends. A private burial will be in Grainger Cemetery, Climax Springs, Missouri under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
