Thomas made a profession of faith and was a member of Climax Presbyterian Church where he would serve as Elder.

In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, bowling and sharing a few drinks with family and friends. He was President of the Climax Springs Civic Center, Commander of the local V.F.W post and once a year, Thomas and Yvonne would attend the Vietnam Combat Trackers Reunion.
