Thomas Munger

Mr. Thomas (Tom) Munger, age 82, of Linn Creek passed away Friday, April 23 surrounded by his family and friends with his million-dollar view of the lake.Tom was born January 4, 1939 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Anne (Rezac) Wehrli and Kenneth Ray Munger. Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy (English) Munger, of 56 years. They were united in marriage on December 20, 1958 at St. Adalberts Catholic Church. Tom’s favorite things to do were being on the water and pontificating on any subject that arose. You could ask Tom anything, and he always knew the answer – no fact check needed! He was a jack of all trades – He loved being a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Elks and was a long serving member of the Knights of Columbus. The bingo crowd loved him! Tom owned his own photography business, and worked many years as a machinist at AT&T. Tom loved being in the pilot or captain seat. He learned to fly, but his favorite pastime was eagerly expounding on the natural beauty of the lake as well as its famous residents and political intrigues – whether it was for family and friends on his own boat or first mate on the Ozark Princess for tourists. Survivors include his two children Kenneth R. Munger and his wife Gretchen Geistdoerfer of Leawood, Kansas; Kathryn L. (Munger) Schmitz of Linn Creek, Missouri; four grandchildren: Brandon Geistdoerfer-Munger and wife Adonia David; Ryan Schmitz; Jay Schmitz and wife Courtney; and Andrea (Schmitz) Kerr and husband Zach; and five great-grandchildren: Jack Ryan Schmitz, Harlow Rae Schmitz, Beckem Jay Schmitz, Crew Thomas Schmitz and Myles Douglas Kerr. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2021 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Idiots Club and left with or mailed to the funeral home.
