Tom Cross

TOM C. CROSS Thomas Coylle Cross, son of Thomas Clinton and Eddia Ximenia Tipton Cross was born, June 18, 1943 in San Luis Obispo, California. He departed this life, Thursday, April 29, 2010 in his home, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-six years, ten months and twenty-one days. On January 22, 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Holly Jean Hoffman and to this union two daughters were born. Together they shared the past forty-six years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his father in 1983. Survivors include his loving wife, Holly Cross of the home; two daughters, Carrie Harrison and husband Allen of Lafayette, Louisiana and Teri Crider of Branson, Missouri; four grandchildren, Amy Derr of Branson, Missouri, Jake Williams of Columbus, Kansas, Sara Jackson of Nixa, Missouri and Katelyn Williams of Lafayette, Louisiana; his mother, Tippy Cross of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Carol Sue LeGate of Amarillo, Texas; a brother, Terry Cross and wife Patty of Greeley, Colorado and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Tom was raised in the communities of Coffeyville and Syracuse, Kansas. He was a 1961 graduate of Kemper Military Academy in Boonville, Missouri. He remained at Kemper and received an Associate's degree before transferring to Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas. It was there that he met the love of his life, Holly and they married shortly after. They made their home in Syracuse, Kansas and later moved to Ulysses, Kansas where they lovingly raised their daughters. They moved to Arkansas and lived in Hot Springs Village and Bella Vista for a number of years. They moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2007. Tom worked in both automobile and real estate sales. He was most recently with Four Seasons Realty. He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Lake Ozark Christian Church. His church was a major part of his life; however, his relationship with Jesus Christ was the most important. Tom as very active in the communities he lived in. He formed a booster club while living in Bella Vista, Arkansas which raised money to provide scholarships for the University of Arkansas Razorback athletes. He helped organize and served as President of the Board for Champions For Kids. An organization that assisted with programs for abused children. He was in the Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, School Boards and several Church Boards. In spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing and enjoyed sports. Most of all, he loved time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his many accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 3, 2010 in Lake Ozark Christian Church. A visitation and luncheon will follow in the church.
