Tommy Lee Osborn

Tommy Lee Osborn passed away on Friday April 14th, 2023, peacefully surrounded by family. Tommy Lee Osborn was born in Des Moines to Gerald Earnest Osborn and Betty Lee Molleston on March 29th, 1947. He was able escape Iowa and moved to Missouri shortly after he finished kindergarten where he would reside the rest of his life. In 1964 he graduated from William Chrisman High School and two weeks after he graduated joined the navy and traveled to San Diego. He would serve in the navy from 1965-1969 on the USS Coral Sea doing 3 tours in Vietnam.

After getting out of the navy he went to work for Lake city for about four months until he got laid off. He tried working for a welding outfit next but after his first paycheck he decided he needed to find something else to do. He then went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad and continued working there from February 1970 to October 2nd, 2000, when he retired. While working for the railroad road he worked as a switchman, conductor, and brakeman among other things.

He then retired to Sunrise Beach at the Lake of the Ozarks in May 2001.

He enjoyed fishing, making incent burners, and spending time being social at the local bar. He was almost always the life of the party. He was an avid KC Chiefs, Royals, and MU fan.

When asked about his life he said, “He lived a great life, had great kids and grandkids, and I can’t say much more.”

He is preceded in death by his parents, his significant other Billy O’ Bannon, and his ex-wife Patricia Tieman .

He is survived by his children: son, Matt Osborn; daughter, Erin Hewlett (Robbie); and son Joey Osborn (Megan); grandchildren: Alex Osborn, Colton Hewlett, Easton Osborn, Isaiah Osborn, Owen Osborn, and Archer Osborn; half-brother, Terry Brown; and his non-blood brothers, Andy Kinne and Tony Simonie.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
