VICTOR FRED "VICK" KOEBERL Victor Fred Koeberl, son of Ferdinand and Marie Swarofski Koeberl, was born, December 3, 1926 in Northbrook, Illinois. He departed this life, Saturday, October 22, 2011, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-four years, ten months and nineteen days. On January 14, 1950 in Park Ridge, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Maryhelen Barbara Schimberg and to this union three children were born. Together they shared sixty-one years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walter Koeberl who was killed in World War II and a great-grandchild. Survivors include his wife, Maryhelen of the home; three children, Walter Steven Koeberl and wife Duane of Orange Park, Florida, Vic Alan Koeberl and wife Melissa of Clovis, California and Laura Ann Koeberl of Camdenton, Missouri; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Shelly, Michelle and Brian; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Koeberl of Mckenzie, Texas and Linda Vaughn of Greeley, Colorado and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Vic was raised in Northbrook, Illinois. After graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country proudly during World War II and after being honorably discharged, he returned to Illinois. He worked alongside his father in the family landscaping business. He took classes at night and received a Bachelors of Science degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. In 1965, he and Maryhelen moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, where they owned and operated Koeberl Sportswear, Gift and Tackle. He later worked as a real estate agent and helped his wife in her Antique's store. Victor made a profession of faith and was a member of Montgomery Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5923 in Camdenton. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old cars. He later repaired and restored model and toy vehicles. Most of all, spending time with his family was important to him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2011 in Montgomery Baptist Church under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mistwood Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Thursday in the church. Memorial donations may be made to Dogwood Animal Shelter and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
