Violet Iwonna McGuire, daughter of William Henry “Bill” and Sophia Lee Moore Looney, was born, March 21, 1938 in Decaturville, Missouri. She departed this life, Tuesday, September 1, 2020, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years, five months and eleven days, surrounded by her loving family On December 20, 1958 in Camdenton, Missouri, she was united in marriage to her loving husband of sixty-one years, Lester “Tucker” McGuire and to this union, they were blessed with five children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Mary McGuire Sherrer; two grandsons, David Stout and Jonathan Arnold; one sister, Bessie Glenn and two brothers, Roy Looney and Troy Looney. Survivors include her husband, Lester “Tucker” McGuire of Camdenton, Missouri; her children, Rick Wedlestadt and wife Amy of Lebanon, Missouri, Ellen Dulle and husband Tom of Camdenton, Missouri, Susan Cuendet and husband Gary of Camdenton, Missouri and Leslie Arnold of Springfield, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Connie Hasty and husband Riley of Carrollton, Missouri and Texas Tresler of Marshall, Missouri and a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Violet grew up and attended school in Carrollton, Missouri where she had lived most of her younger life. When she left Carrollton, she moved to Lebanon and was living with her aunts when she was introduced to the love of her life Tucker and they were soon married. She received her GED and graduated in the class of 1977. Violet stayed at home for several years raising their children and then went to work at H.D. Lee where she was in quality control and made care labels. She worked for thirty-six years before her retirement. Violet was saved and baptized at an early age at Southside Baptist Church in Carrollton, Missouri and was the last charter member. Once they moved to Lebanon, they attended First Assembly of God Church of Lebanon, Missouri. In her spare time, she loved to read and work in her beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed getting out and going to craft festivals and listening to bluegrass music with Tucker. Her family loved her cooking, especially her fried potatoes, fried chicken and goulash and anything else that she would make for them. Violet loved to spoil her great-great-grandbabies. They brought her great joy. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. She has blessed many with her beautiful smile and times that will always be treasured. Heaven gained a beautiful angel and we know she will be watching over us all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2020, in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2020 in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Dementia Society of America and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
