VIOLET SIMPSON Violet Marie Simpson, daughter of George and Violet T. Trapp Dent, was born, March 7, 1922 in Omaha, Nebraska. She departed this life, Friday, February 6, 2009 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, ten months and thirty-days as a result of a fire on December 28, 2008. On February 21, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to William J. "Billy" Simpson and to this union four children were born. Together they shared forty-four years of marriage until his passing in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother and sister; a brother, Charles Dent and two sisters Tiny Decker and Helen Kvenvald. Survivors include her children, Violet Walker of Westminster, Colorado, Dan Simpson and wife Bonnie of Fort Collins, Colorado, Tim Simpson of Red Lodge Montana and Sharon Halterman and husband Al of Camdenton, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Tammy Billiot of Castle Rock, Colorado, Sandy Glass of Moscow Mills, Missouri, Steve Simpson of Brighton, Colorado, Kris Thompson, Jason Simpson and Andy Simpson all of Fort Collins, Colorado, Angie Halterman and Billy Halterman both of Camdenton, Missouri and Cyndy Wright of Eureka, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Violet was raised in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated high school there. She and Billy lived in the St. Louis area and in Webster Groves until 1983, when they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. They had a summer place at the lake since 1962. She was baptized into the Roman Catholic Church and attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing. sewing and bird watching. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to be around people and enjoyed socializing, laughing and partying. Violet was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her many accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 in St. Anthony Catholic Church under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Laughlin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday in the church. A reception will be held at Whisker's following the graveside ceremony. Memorial donations may be made to Blue Moon Sanctuary and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
