VIRGIL 'OLD FART" CALVERT Virgil William Calvert, son of George William and Myrtle Mondessa Blankenship Calvert, was born, June 5, 1928 in Montreal, Missouri. He departed this life, Tuesday, August 6, 2013, in Ozark Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-five years, two months and one day. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mamie Calvert; four brothers, Carl Calvert, Earl Calvert, Wallis Calvert and F. Birdette Calvert; a half-brother, Zeldon Rainwater and a grandson, Randy James Clayton. Survivors include a sister, Irma Jane Sheeley and husband Cleamont of Richland, Missouri; his daughter, Patricia Kehoe of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Terry Clayton and wife Tammy of Fair Grove, Missouri, David Clayton and wife Michelle of Springfield, Missouri and John Clayton and wife Melissa of Springfield, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren, Kiley, Ashley, Tanya, Teasha, Terry, Cassidy, Addison and Haley; two great-great-grandchildren, Dakota and Kadence and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends and caregivers, Earnest Calvert and Debra Goodrich. Virgil was raised in the Freedom area of Montreal. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. After being honorable discharged, he began a career working for General Motor-Leeds in Kansas City, Missouri. He worked for Richline Boat Factory for a time. He always enjoyed working on lawn mowers and small engines. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. Everyone will remember "Old Fart" being ornery with his friends and family. He left an impact on those he came in touch with and his memory will linger on in our memories forever. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow in Freedom Cemetery, Montreal. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Friday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Freedom Cemetery or Hospice Compassus and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
