Virgil Edmund Norris, long time resident of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, passed away in his home on September 3rd, 2024, at the age of 84. Virgil was born in Chicago on May 26th, 1940 to Virgil and Theresa (nee Lindsay). He was a graduate of Wheaton High School in 1958 and served in the U.S Army.
Virgil was a passionate carpenter and woodworker, and crafted cabinetry for a number of local homes and businesses. He enjoyed live music and was a talented cook, traits which he passed along to his children. Virgil was an active member of Montgomery Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy (nee Smith); his three children, Timothy (Carolyn), Jennifer Box, and Cheryl Sadorf; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many dear friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carole; and his brother, James.
A memorial service will be held at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home on September 21st, from 10am to 12pm with a service following at Montgomery Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Montgomery Baptist Church, Lake West Christian Academy, or Ozarks Kats and K9 Shelter in Sunrise Beach, Missouri.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
