Virginia M Davenport

Virginia Marie Davenport,94, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Yeshua) on October 1, 2024; Virginia passed away at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born September 30, 1930 in Edwardsville, Illinois; daughter of the late Mary and William Grinstead.

On August 27, 1949, in Edwardsville, Illinois, Virginia married John Thomas Davenport. The Couple had three children, Terrie Lee Davenport of Camdenton, Missouri, Dennis Davenport (deceased) and Jeffery Davenport of Elgin, Texas. The couple also had two grandchildren, Eric Nyman of Gold Beach, Oregon and Emily Nyman of Eugene, Oregon. Other survivors include one great-grandchild, Eleanor (Nora) Nyman of Gold Beach, Oregon; siblings, Bob Grinstead of Edwardsville, Illinois and David Grinstead of Ely, Minnesota. In her passing, she also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other family and friends who will all truly miss her.

In 2010, Virginia’s husband, John Thomas Davenport, passed away; The couple enjoyed many devoted years to each other, which included retiring to the Lake of the Ozarks.

Virginia was also a devoted follower of Christ and at one time, was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, in Camdenton, Missouri.

Virginia enjoyed reading the Bible and studying God’s word and she was a righteous woman who was truly an inspiration as well as a caring and loving wife, mother and an encouragement to all who were friends and family.

Virginia also liked to garden, go for boat rides on the family pontoon and also her and John often visited Branson, Missouri, to enjoy exciting entertainment at the variety of shows there. She was always quick to smile and had a thankful attitude in life. Her positive and encouraging nature made her a delight to be with. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m., on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held in Allee Memorial Gardens, following the visitation, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Habitat for Humanity. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
