WALLACE "WALLY" MacDONALD Wallace Eldon MacDonald, son of Harold K. and Edna L. Bevan MacDonald, was born September 23, 1924 in Trenton, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, July 6, 2012 in the Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, nine months, and thirteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Myra, of the home; a daughter, Cathie Jenkins of Peculiar, Missouri; a granddaughter, Tricia Wohlford and husband Dave of Peculiar, Missouri; a great-granddaughter, Kali and four step-children, Randy Dimick and wife Kelly of Montclair, California, Cindy Baker and wife Kenny of Burdett, Minnesota, Becky Ford of Geneva, Wisconsin and Mildred Sandavol and husband Barry of Montclair, California as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Wally proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps and was stationed in the South Pacific. He received four medals for his service, the Good Conduct Medal, the APT Medal, Victory Ribbon and the American Theater Ribbon. He was a forty nine year member of the American Legion; he belonged to the Zack Wheat American Legion Post # 624 in Sunrise Beach and was a member of the VFW Post #5923 in Camdenton, Missouri. Wally had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Ozarks Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Laurie, as well as the Ararat Shrine Temple in Kansas City, Missouri. In his younger years, Wally enjoyed fishing, water skiing, and traveling. He also owned and operated Amigo's in Sunrise Beach for a number of years before retiring to spend time with his family and friends. Wally loved to play many card games, including Gin, and was an avid reader. Wally was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and many accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurie under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Ozark Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m., Wednesday in the church. Memorial donations may be made to Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church and left at the funeral home or the church. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
