Walter Benjamin Reaves, son of Walter Sherman Reaves and Ruth Elizabeth Martin was born August 28, 1941 in Jefferson City, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, November 20, 2021 in his home at the age of eighty-years, two months, and twenty-three days. On October 18, 1963, Walter was united in marriage to Twyla Wright and to this union seven children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Charlene Carlson; two brothers, Edward and John Reaves; and three sisters Naomi Sparks, Carolyn Bumstetor, and Anna Dayan. Walter is survived by his wife, Twyla, of the home; his daughters, Paula Ray, Kimberly Crisman, Kelly Gibbons and Amy Montoya; his sons, Andy Reaves and Kevin Reaves; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Walter spent the majority of his life working in the janitorial field until his health forced him to retire as a housekeeping aide at Tan-Tar-A Resort, where he made many lifelong connections while working there. He was a devoted father and husband and was known to be a hard worker. He was baptized and was a member of Camdenton Church of Christ. Walter was a great artist and had a knack for drawing various cartoon characters and spent many years painting holiday scenes on many local business windows through the area. He cherished the time spent with his family and especially enjoyed the time spent with his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, Walter worked on cars and loved to spend time outdoors, camping and fishing. He was a gentle giant and a good man. Walter was a loving husband, father, grandfather-great-grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and remember the many wonderful memories that he has created for his family and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 26, 2021 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service Friday in the funeral home.
