Walter "Wes" Laughlin

Walter William “Wes” Weston Laughlin Walter William Weston Laughlin, son of Stephen Harrison and Ramona Daniels, was born, August 21, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life, Monday, February 10, 2020, Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-four years, five months and twenty days. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Daniels-Laughlin; his father Roger Laughlin and his brother, Conrad Laughlin and five daughters, Sunshine, Jennifer, Ramona, Hazel and Ruth. On October 21, 1995 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Betty Ann Miller and they renewed their vows in Versailles, Missouri on February 9, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Betty Laughlin of the home; his daughter, Stephanie Ann Laughlin of Branson, Missouri; two step-sons, Alan Dale Garrison and wife Edith of Arkansas and Martin Miller and wife Velma of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren, Kennedy and Robyn Mitchell, Lillian and Michael Miller and David and Clayton Garrison; three brothers, Henry Laughlin and wife Pati of St. Louis, Missouri, Rob Harrison of Florida, and Joe Laughlin and wife Sharon of St. Louis, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Walter made a profession of faith and was a member of was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Walter was raised in the Hawk Point, Missouri and graduated from Hawk Point High School. He joined the United States Navy on December 18, 1968 and proudly served his country for twenty-one years until his retirement on November 30, 1996 in Virginia Beach, Virginia and this is where he met Betty Ann. He was a customer service manager at the Versailles Wal-Mart for fifteen years. In his spare time, he had a passion for miniature trains. He always volunteered to play Santa Claus at Wal-Mart and the Work Shop for fifteen years. He loved seeing the children smile. He was a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Burial was in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Leonard Wood.
